Due to its contribution to the development of Modern Physics in Spain, the Residencia de Estudiantes was recognised as Historic Site by the European Physical Society, honor which has only been given to other 19 places in the continent. Willing to maintain its leading position in society regarding science issues, the Residencia de Estudiantes has iniciated the practical Física en la Residencia programme. This programme includes multimedia contents and informative initiatives, focusing on physics and the scientists that come to the Residencia de Estudiantes to share their research.
The Física en la Residencia programme covers three lines of action. The first one is in charge of designing and producing didactic material in different formats (paper, digital, video…). These tools are later used in the second stage, where they are introduced in workshops aimed at students as well as in guided visits about the developments of science and the main protagonists that helped achieve them. Lastly, and willing to reach as wide an audience as possible, this virtual platform was created, in which all the developed materials collected physically at the Library of the Residencia de Estudiantes have been displayed for their consult and reading. This virtual platform works also as a link to the other institutions that have been declared EPS Historic Site.
